Show dailies are often considered to be something read and discarded once an attendee’s finished reading it. But CustomNEWS show dailies have become so much more.
At last month’s PLA 2018 conference in Philadelphia, PLA Daily News had a few different components:
- Printed newspaper actively distributed to attendees daily as they entered the convention center. Each issue included information on the day’s events (there wasn’t an onsite program), the popular list of author signings in the exhibit hall and photos and stories from the previous day’s sessions.
- Daily email newsletter sent to both PLA members and conference attendees, with links to each issue of the show daily and daily highlights video, photos and the day’s schedule
- A daily video highlights reel that captured each day’s events, including speaker presentations, action in the exhibit hall and attendee testimonials (and a magic trick). Each day’s video was shared the following morning at the Big Ideas sessions, posted on social media and featured in the daily highlights emails.
