Case Study: IDWeek 2020

Digital daily newspapers enhance a virtual meeting, showcase content and generate revenue.

Last month, CustomNEWS published a digital daily newspaper for IDWeek.

We produced four issues of a digital daily publication, which was distributed in a daily email newsletter sent to more than 50,000 recipients. Our email newsletters had a 25% open rate and 4% click-thru rate. The publication was also shared via social media and other communications tools.

Digital publishing offers cost-effective tools to showcase content, generate non-dues revenue and provide exhibitors with high-impact marketing opportunities.

Exhibitors Sought Marketing Opportunities

When the organizers moved to virtual event, exhibitors sought out high-impact marketing opportunities. More than 75% of our sales were confirmed within the first four weeks once the move to a virtual platform was announced.

Exhibitors were anxiously gearing up for IDWeek, with plans to launch new products and showcase clinical trial news. IDWeek Daily News provided the opportunity to share case studies, product news, promote virtual industry events, and much more.

Attract New Attendees

Unlike live events, virtual events have a longer shelf life. Showcasing conference content to a wide audience each day may also lead to a few new registrants, both during the “live” event and afterwards, to access on-demand content. We included buttons linking to the conference registration page throughout the publication, and in each email newsletter.
